About Me

Meet Victoria Davidson. Lane Cove’s community independent candidate.

I have always been passionate about serving my community. The first thing I did when I turned 18 was to enrol to vote. While I’ve remained politically interested, the first time I became politically active was when I volunteered to support Kylea Tink’s 2022 federal election campaign.

I grew up and attended school on the lower North Shore and many of my schoolmates have become lifelong friends.

I have a law degree from the University of NSW, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Sydney University and I am an NMAS accredited mediator.

Throughout my legal career, I combined commercial and corporate work in the health industry where I gained an understanding of the complexities of the public health sector. I also worked pro bono giving advice to women experiencing domestic violence and homelessness.

Fifteen years ago my husband and I moved to Lane Cove where we are now raising our three children and dog Max. When my eldest child started at Lane Cove Primary School, I became actively involved in the school P&C, including running the canteen for five years.

In 2000 my husband, Andrew Scown, and I set up the local podiatry clinic, The Foot Group. The business has sponsored Lane Cove Primary School, Lane Cove Football Club, and the Lane Cove Fun Run. We believe in the importance of community life.

For the past 11 years, I have been The Foot Group’s Business Manager and I understand the pressures on business and the need for certainty in a changing world.

I know there is a need to do things better, to future-proof our economy and leave no-one behind, to get better and faster action on climate change and to make sure every dollar of public money is spent effectively.

I have always believed in the power of the individual and the community to effect change, so please help me to put that into practice. I will listen to the community and faithfully represent their views in parliament.

In my downtime, I’m a keen knitter, cook and gardener. I try to attend yoga and pilates class every week and I help my husband with his backyard beekeeping enterprise.
